Bourbon Street is good but maybe not suitable for very young children. Pat O'Brien's is a must-do. My favourite restaurant is the Red Fish Grill. Barbecue crab claws are a dish I still dream about! The Steamboat Natchez Jazz cruise is a good thing to do, but don't book the meal, the food is awful, tell the clients to find somewhere to eat afterwards. Must do Beignets at Cafe du Monde, and also make sure they try gumbo and jambalaya. Also recommend taking a swamp tour and also getting out to one of the plantations on River Road. We did the Hop On Hop Off bus which is a really good way of getting a feel for the place and getting to all the main sites. My favourite hotel is the Monteleone. Even if they don't stay there, they should go in and have a look round and get a drink at the revolving Carousel Bar.

i prefer frenchmen street to Bourbon street... its less touristy but still has some really good jazz bars :)

I agree with Matt, go to Frenchman

one small but brilliant bar for music is the Spotted Cat
